This is where the party began. On Friday, the day before the wedding, over a hundred guests poured into Rome from all over the world to celebrate the wedding of Jennifer and Joseph and they were treated to a fun, friendly and delicious welcome dinner with a magnificent view overlooking Rome.
It wouldn’t be a party in Italy without a hand cut prosciutto leg. And cheese! Parmigiano, aged ricotta, fresh ricotta, pecorino di Pienza, sheep milk cheese, goat milk cheese…the list of cheeses never seems to end here. Each region has their own specialties and there must be thousands of different kids.
What a fun evening this was. Italian folk musicians serenading the guests, wine flowing, abundant Italian produce and cuisine and gelato. gelato! Last but never least, gelato! This is a wonderful location both inside and out. Although our party was in the garden, below are some photos of spectacular painted details inside this historic palazzo and villa that dates back to the Napoleonic years in Rome.
So this was only the beginning, the wedding day was yet to come. You can see eye popping photos from the wedding day by clicking HERE. A Catholic ceremony at Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of the most beloved and spectacular basilicas in all of Rome. The wedding was performed by a cardinal from the Vatican, Cardinal George Pell. After which there was a Chinese tea ceremony which is a traditional ceremony where the bride and groom honor and pay their respects to their parents, grandparents and elders. Then on to the Western style wedding reception cocktail hour, seated dinner, cake cutting and dancing. The couple was so lucky to have a glorious sunny day that was not too hot or humid but was just right. All in all it is hard to imagine a better send off to a happy lifetime together.
