We couldn’t be more proud of this collaboration with a bride who was in the wedding business and the American florist Oleander and photographer Lauren Fair who both flew over from the Philadelphia area to produce this wedding together in an ancient monastery is on the border of Tuscany and Umbria.
The bride Amanda is a wedding pro and she was working for The Knot while we were planning her wedding. She had her finger on the pulse of the wedding business and the latest trends. She knew exactly what she wanted for her own wedding. Our collaboration began with Brenda suggesting this ancient monastery. They recognized immediately without even seeing it in person that it was just perfect for them. Well, it is an easy location to love and with boundless potential.
Their Catholic ceremony took place in the ancient church on site. The officiant was an Irish monsignor from Dublin now at the Vatican. Patrick’s family wanted their home parish priest to celebrate the wedding but he was not able to make the trip. The groom and his family are Irish American and so it was a special treat for them to have an Irish priest to officiate. For a destination wedding it is not always easy to find an officiant with whom you can form a bond. But from the first moment they met they all hit off.
Amanda and Patrick planned to get married in New York or New Jersey but no location felt quite right and so they moved the search to Italy. In their search for locations in New York and New Jersey, they met Cynthia of Oleander Florals and Lauren of Lauren Fair Photography. They knew that they wanted to work together and so when Amanda and Patrick choose Italy for their wedding both Cynthia and Lauren came along. The results were magical and we hope to all be able to work together again soon.
